The Superstition Mountains is certainly a place of mystery, and in Aliens Uncovered Portal Encounters, the 12th episode of a 15 film run, what’s unearthed concerns folklore more so than anything else! Here, the focus is about why people go missing and the search for Lost Dutchman’s Gold Mine! That’s because some people theorise the metal is required for achieving faster than light travel.
One day, maybe someone from the U.S. military will open up and explain why they patrol these places. They are policing them because “There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” There are organisations who think the world is not ready for what’s lurking across that gateway, and perhaps they are doing what’s best for humanity.
Some ideas include spiritual enlightenment, meeting gods rather than aliens, and using gold to unlock a door to the other side. The ideas from the likes of Dan Starky and John Mahkewa (to name a few) are just that. What’s suggested in this show doesn’t sound too far-fetched. I want to believe like Mulder from the X-Files. And here, writer/Director Clive Christopher is our proxy. What he’s pieced together in Portals Unearthed is fascinating, but when he likes to use the image of the Stargate (the movie/tv series), surely there must be a better image to use?

One detail I like is how people consider the Indigenous people to be smarter than Andrew Watkins. Although he got the credit for inventing the word, ley lines, other people called this convergence something else. The details are scant, and I really wanted to know more about these other interpretations of these alleged geometric alignments. Whether these where these intersections of many lines are marked by monoliths or something else, it’s a detail worth exploring as a separate documentary!
When it comes to determining whether all these ideas are true, it is always advisable to take everything offered with a grain of salt. Perhaps they didn’t include Michio Kaku in the documentary because it wasn’t in their budget. Also, had this episode included what’s being studied at Skinwalker Ranch (the television series), I’m willing to bet what’s happening in Utah is no different than here. These documentaries rarely want to crossover with other paranormal reality television programs, and that’s a shame.
