‘Suki! ~Cho ver~’, the J-pop hit from Japanese idol group Cho Tokimeki♡Sendenbu is sweeping the world! This bouncy number is everything one would expect from a kawaii group of performers. This all-girl band of merry performers from Japan is making waves as their song is charting everywhere. On Apple Music’s country by country charts, it’s hit No. 2 in Azerbaijan, No. 10 in Portugal, No. 15 in Norway, and remains in the top 50 from Ecuador to Sweden (as of November 18).
‘Suki! ~Cho ver~’ is a new version of ‘Suki!’, which was first released on the April 2018 album ‘Tokiotome’. This update performed by the group’s current lineup was included on the mini-album ‘Suki Suki Suki Suki Suki Suki!’, which released last September
The word ‘Suki’ means “I like you” or “I love you” in Japanese. Though the song is slightly repetitive in the use of it 114 times on the song, it’s vibe of emoting out happiness with life is what defines this tune. Plus, seeing the girls dance and making that heart shape doesn’t imply much–well, unless you watch too much anime and love the movie Moulin Rouge because Christian, the protagonist, said, “Love is a many splendored thing. Love lifts us up where we belong.”
On hearing that the song was No.1 on Spotify’s Indonesia Viral 50 chart a few days ago (November 17th), the six members of Cho Tokimeki♡Sendenbu made their feelings clear:
