A Woolly Mystery Awaits, Sherlock! The Sheep Detectives Are On The Case….

The Hardy Boys can’t help here in solving the case, when a seemingly negliant father of twins care more for his flock than his kids. As there’s more to the mystery, The Sheep Detectives are on the case to find out who murdered this parent!

The Sheep Detectives PosterAlthough the title of The Sheep Detectives is deceptive, just who is doing the work has the right mix of a human and animal whodunit mixed with the pastoral charm unique to Anne of Green Gables. Here, George Hardy (Hugh Jackman) leads a simple life. Most of his worries begin and end with his sheep. He tends to them like any loving parent would, doting on them when it’s time to shear their wool and making sure they feel comfortable afterward. He even reads them “bedtime stories,” although his choices lean toward murder mysteries rather than fairy tales.

The flock listens, almost as if they truly understand every clue, motive, and hidden threat. When George finally goes to sleep, that’s when the magic begins. We discover that the sheep are highly intelligent and live a Toy Story-style life once the humans are no longer watching. Or should that be A Secret Life of Pets?

Hunting for The Missing Link in Studio Laika’s Latest

The Missing Link

By Ed Sum
(The Vintage Tempest)

Studio Laika always impresses. Their catalogue of works always offers insightful looks into the human condition. More often than not, they explore aspects of the supernatural world in relation to mankind. Missing Link considers what drives certain individuals to become what they are. This film suggests what makes homo sapiens superior to other forms of life, and when Charles Darwin is involved, it’s not always about survival of the fittest. Are they doing it for themselves to raise their self-esteem, or something else?

Enter wannabe world-renowned explorer Sir Lionel Frost (voiced by Hugh Jackman in his best British accent than Australian). He’s chasing after cryptids and he wants to join the prestigious Optimates Club. However, Lord Piggot-Dunceby (Stephen Fry) thinks all such creations are pish-posh; he believes mankind is superior and is supposed to dominate.

What makes The Wolverine Tick? A Movie Analysis and Review

The Wolverine movie misses its mark in realizing what this seminal character is about. He’s not just a Ronin.

The WolverineSome movie goers may well wonder what The Wolverine would have looked like if it received a rating of R than a PG-13 by the MPAA. More bloodshed, seeing Wolvy go berserk, perhaps a bit of gore or how about a splash of nudity? A mix of any of them from the list would have given this flick some added kick about Marvel Comic’s most brutal mutant.

Logan (Hugh Jackman) has gone into seclusion after the events from X-Men 3: Last Stand and he certainly looks like he is living up to his namesake of being a lone predator. These days, he’s more like a hermit. But after a sad attack upon a hapless bear, this act of cruelty forces Wolvy to go after the hunters and point out that savagery is a brutal way to go about hunting.

But before things get worse, namely what this wild man of the woods can do, Yukio (Rila Fukushima), a valet, finds and delivers him a message: please go meet with Mr. Ichirō Yashida (Hal Yamanouchi) for he is dying. He wishes to see Logan for one last time. The two have a history together. This mutant saved his life by shielding him from nuclear annihilation and Yashida-san wishes to pay his debt by offering him a chance at mortality.

The Spanish Wolverine Poster

Wolverine1The new Spanish poster for the movie The Wolverine (realease date of July 26th) is quite intense. A very focused Wolverine with claw out and Japanese katana held in the free hand may become highly collectable by both comic book fans and film poster collectors alike.
