It’s a Good Time for a Marvel Nerd: Dates Announced up to 2019 & Thoughts!

Marvel Comics Entertainment is telling the world why they are indeed mighty today. At a special event in Hollywood’s El Capitan Theater, this company teased press and fans alike with trailers, speeches and title cards highlighting what “Phase 3” of their films will entail, leaving some fans who can’t be there for real deciding to follow this event through streaming media and twitter reports. Some may well have thought Phase 2 blitzed by too fast even though it hasn’t.

This studio has announced dates to all their movies up to 2019. The list is as follows:

What’s Next for Night at the Museum?

The Night at the Museum is an enjoyable family fun comedy that is getting a third film due to arrive in theatres December 19. Ben Stiller, Ricky Gervais and Robin Williams will be returning to play their respective roles as Larry, Doctor McPhee and President Theordore Roosevelt. Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan also return to reprise their hilarious straight-man funny-man routine as Jedediah Smith and Octavius and there will be a newcomer waiting in the wings. Comedienne Rebel Wilson will also play a security guard who works at the British Museum.

This little casting note suggests more hijinks will take place at the largest establishment to house Egyptian artifacts outside of Cairo, and if this film marks the end of a series, then it may go with a bang. In the first film, the Golden Tablet of Pharaoh Akhmenrah is the MacGuffin that drove that film to its happy end, and in the second film, it’s stolen by Dexter. This monkey never did get punished for the chaos that erupted when the gang clashed with another Egyptian exhibit at the Smithsonian.

Casting Additions for Batman vs Superman!

DC Comic’s holy triumvirate will kickstart the movie universe right in the shins and hopefully race on ahead to plans for a Justice League film. As for whether or not that will work is not the question right now. Instead, the attention will be on giving Wonder Woman the love thats needed in a mostly machismo universe. That’s been established with the recent reboot of Superman and in fitting in with the continuity that started with Christopher Nolan’s Batman.

But with Zack Snyder behind this product, the information that Israeli-born actress Gal Gadot will be playing a warrior-princess from Themyscira is exciting. She is best known for playing Gisele Harabo in the Fast and the Furious film series and this model won the title of Miss Israel in 2004. To have a foreign presence is fitting since this character is from the Mediterranean area. But little is known about this actress since her filmography is relatively on the short side. Her online bio states she served the Israeli Army for a time and this experience will no doubt serve her well when she starts training to really look the role.

But after this film, her presence in Hollywood will no doubt be on the rise.

And as for whether or not this night time hunter will work on the big screen, early leaked trailers shows that any fears or qualms of Rocket Racoon failing has been mulched.

Cooper Guardians of the Galaxy may well be Marvel Entertainment’s next big thing. But when viewers are not all that acquainted with the hodge-podge cast of the galaxy’s greatest warriors, raccoons included, just who is going to voice this angry beaver?

First, newcomers to this series should not equate this alien being to any earth animal — even if the beaver is of a different species. The voice that may emerge out of this alien species that resembles a raccoon may well be that of Bradley Cooper.

The Penguins of Madagascar gets John Malkovich as the “Charming Villian”

The latest news about DreamWorks Penguins of Madagascar includes the following casting news:

The Penguins of Madagascar will be back in 2015, and they will have Benedict Cumberbatch and John Malkovich to contend with. Both actors are in high demand these days and the excitement is even better after sources say who they will play. Cumberbatch will voice a high-ranking animal CIA agent that’s after Malkovich, who will be a “charming villian.”

As for how the Penguins will play into this plot must mean they will leave their merry zoo life and might be globe-trotting in a high paced spy action thriller.

Expected to be back will be Tom McGrath as the voice of Skipper, Chris Miller as Kowalski, John DiMaggio as Rico and Christopher Knights as Private.

To helm the movie will be director Simon J. Smith (“Bee Movie”) interpreting the script by Michael Colton and John Aboud. Lara Breay (“Megamind”) is producing, while executive producers include Mireille Soria, Tom McGrath and Eric Darnell, all of whom are responsible for the original “Madagascar” trilogy.
