Still Loud After All These Years: GENERATIONS’ Sing It Loud Makes a Comeback Nobody Saw Coming

A 2015 GENERATIONS single nobody was talking about just took over Japan’s music charts, landing 40 songs in the real-time Top 100 simultaneously. Here’s what we know about the Sing It Loud’s unexpected musical revival of 2026.

Sing It LoudThere’s a term in music called a “sleeper hit,” but what GENERATIONS is experiencing right now doesn’t quite fit the mould. Sing It Loud isn’t new. It’s 11 years old. And yet, somehow, it’s back. Although KISS’ track I Love It Loud is much older, the question is whether one wants hard rock or J-pop. What makes this 2015 single special is that it comes from the LDH dance-and-vocal collective, who also recorded a One Piece anime theme.

They hit the RecoChoku Video Ranking (Daily) for May 18, 2026, where the song ranked at number five. Nobody planned this. Nobody expected it. Even the members of GENERATIONS seemed caught off guard.

Member Hayato Komori spotted the chart placement and couldn’t help but react. Then things really took off. The group went on to simultaneously occupy all five top spots on the LINE MUSIC Video Ranking, and at one point, 40 GENERATIONS songs were sitting inside the real-time Top 100 at once.

Reo Sano said it best: “I can’t believe a song from 11 years ago is ranking. Oh, I was 18 back then.” Alan Shirahama started digging up old rehearsal photos. Ryota Katayose posted something to the effect of, “What is going on?!” And Yuta Nakatsuka, ever the overachiever, promised fans a brand-new solo dance version of the song.

The big question nobody has been able to answer yet is where this actually started. Fans are piecing it together, but the origin of the viral push remains a mystery. In the meantime, GENERATIONS’ official accounts are running full steam under the hashtag #GENE_RisingFast, streaming platforms have spun up a dedicated 15-track playlist, and the group dropped a Sing It Loud -LIVE MIX- video on YouTube, pulling together footage from years’ worth of tours and concerts.

Call it a comeback. Call it the algorithm doing something right for once. Either way, GENERATIONS is having a moment, and it couldn’t have come from a more unlikely spark.
