The Comedy JEXI Gets a Green Band Trailer

JEXI

Release Date:
October 11, 2019

If a passing familiarity to American made Her or the Japanese Animation Video Girl Ai sounds familiar, Jexi is the film for you. CBS Films and Entertainment One in conjunction with Lionsgate will release this comedy in theaters on October 11, 2019.

When Phil (Adam Devine) is your typical awkward guy who needs help to make girlfriends, the last thing anyone needs is a virtual assistant who has a mind of her own. When he upgrades his phone, the latest model comes with an unexpected feature–Jexi (Rose Byrne) – an A.I. life coach and cheerleader. She offers more than Amazon’s Alexa or Apple’s Siri ever can, and sounds cuter too!

Phil starts to have something resembling a real life with her help but that’s when things get hairy, and this machine wants him all to herself. She will sabotage his life. While this movie is not going to send Phil into the matrix or see the A.I. get a body anytime soon, it’s not going to be easy to guess what writers Jon Lucas & Scott Moore (Bad Moms) has in mind to wrap up this comedy.

Anyone who becomes too dependent on their smartphone or even seen the Fringe Theatre Play, Battery Operated Boyfriend will have a heads up though. The themes are worth considering in this day and age. Are we too dependent on technology (smartphones) and not realize what’s out there? In this trailer, Michael Peña flexes his comedic muscles, and it’s about time he has a juicy role to do so. This film offers a lot to like thematically and with the star power involved.  in the modern day, perhaps this movie will speak to
