The Three Stooges are back for more nyuk nyuks and mindless mayhem in a sequel that will see Sean Hayes, Will Sasso, and Chris Diamantopoulos reprise their roles as Larry, Curly and Moe respectively. It is unknown if actress Sofia Vergara will return as the villainous vixen Lydia.
The first film released in 2012 earned $55 million in worldwide sales.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The sequel will see The Three Stooges leave their familiar straight comedy setting to become action comedy stars. Cameron Fay who wrote the upcoming Brother In Laws feature starring Gillian Jacobs, Taran Killam, and Bill Pullman will pen this project. There is news that an additional action star will bolster the cast.
With Twentieth Century Fox, Conundrum Entertainment, and Wessler Entertainment opting out former associate C3 Entertainment is heading production with Grand Peaks Entertainment. The Exchange will handle worldwide sales.
Earl and Robert Benjamin who received Executive Producer credits in the trio’s first outing will be joined by Exchange CEO Brian O’Shea and Jeff Bowler.
C3’s Pablo Velez will produce with Grand Peaks’ Alan Simpson and Exchange’s Nat McCormick in place of original producers Bobby and Peter Farrelly.
