The American based apparel company, The Gap, has done it again. They’ve created another exclusive clothing line based off the works of an internationally known children’s author. After last year’s success with Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit, the Gap’s Babygap clothing line is carrying Michael Bond’s worldly recognized Paddington Bear.
Paddington is known for his attire of blue duffle coat and yellow rainboots.
The polite little bear with a love for marmalade originated from darkest Peru. After arriving by ship in the United Knigdom, he is discovered in Paddington Station by the human family known by the name “Brown.” Paddington is adopted and taken forwith to the home the Brown’s home at 32 Windsor Gardens. Michael Bond’s first book of Paddington’s adventures is called “A Bear Called Paddington.” It was published in 1958 by William Collins & Sons (now Harper Collins).
The Gap’s Paddington clothing designs are insprired the pictures created by British illustrator and painter Peggy Fortnum. She originally illustrated Michael Bond’s furry creation.
Paddington will also see a feature-length film set to release November 28, 2014 in the UK. The film will star Nicole Kidman, Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Jim Broadbent, Julie Walters, Peter Capaldi and Colin Firth as the voice of Paddington.
