On Kujima Utaeba Ie Hororo, The Single Komorebizaka and Galileo Galilei’s Upcoming Tour Too!

Nearly everyone loves penguins, and whether that’s what Kujima actually is in Kujima Utaeba Ie Hororo may be up for debate as new episodes continue to air. When she can talk, well…. The animated adaptation premiered in Japan on April 9, 2026, and has been performing solidly in the ratings. The original manga first ran in Shogakukan’s monthly shonen magazine Gessan from September 2021 to April 2024. After earning several industry awards, some readers may feel this adaptation is long overdue.

The opening theme song, “Komorebizaka,” is getting noticed too. It opens with a breezy, almost whimsical lightness before the country pop groove blends in. It’s a beautiful match for the tone of the series, and one that captures its quiet emotional pull. And yes, I’ll be keeping an eye out for an English release.

From the Press Release:

This gentle, slice-of-life comedy follows first-year middle school student Arata Kouda and his encounter with this mysterious creature that has crossed over to Japan from Russia. Their meeting sparks a quiet but meaningful shift within his household.

It has also been announced that “Komorebizaka,” the anime’s opening theme by Galileo Galilei, will be released as a single. The song was written specifically for the anime following a heartfelt request from the original creator, Akira Konno. The result is a piece born from mutual respect between artist and musician.

The CD single’s tracklist has also been revealed and includes the insert song “Hito wa Wataridori.”

The jacket illustration, created exclusively by Konno, depicts Kujima standing alone by the water’s edge, surrounded by gently swaying grass as migrating birds cross the sky. It captures the same soft, emotional tone found in the music, making it a striking and unique visual companion to the release.

About Galileo Galilei

Yuuki Ozaki (vocals, guitar) and Kazuki Ozaki (drums) formed the band in 2007 in Wakkanai, Hokkaido. In 2008, they won the grand prize at Senko Riot and made their major debut in 2010 with the mini album Hamanasu no Hana. Known for their transparent melodies and delicate lyricism, the band has built a dedicated international following.

They have released several notable tracks, including “Natsuzora” (opening theme for Big Windup! 2) and “Aoi Shiori” (opening theme for Ano Hana: The Flower We Saw That Day).

Following a concert at Nippon Budokan in 2016, the band went on hiatus. They resumed activities in October 2022 with a new lineup featuring Yuuki Ozaki, Kazuki Ozaki, Masaki Okazaki (bass), and original founding member Fumito Iwai (guitar). On March 15, 2025, they held a 15th anniversary concert at Tokyo Garden Theatre. On October 11, 2025, guitarist Daiki, known for his work with Bird Bear Hare and Fish (BBHF), officially joined the band after previously serving as a support member.

That same month, they released “Amadeus,” the opening theme for Ao no Orchestra Season 2.

Their nationwide tour, Galileo Galilei Tour 2026 NAKED HERO, will span seven cities across Japan beginning in May 2026.
