When considering Josie and the Pussycats got a modern revival, it’s not fair she has the spotlight. Jem shines for the simple reason she was a sensation.

Keeping the focus on the Planeteers first is a smart move, since they’ve always been the heart of the concept. It also gives the series room to update its message without losing what made it work in the first place.
