If you’ve spent any time following the unknown and unsolved with all those series on History Channel or Discovery, the good news is that there’s always something new on the horizon. I personally believe we are finally out of the paranormal reality television craze as interest has, ironically enough, faded away. The few programs that remain for Spring 2026 Mystery Block are money makers for one reason or another, but as for new content and promoting those shows, it’s about bloody time!

What started as a niche revival has exploded into a full-blown spring premiere block. And it’s no joke, April is a busy month! Whether you’re here for the cryptids, the conspiracies, or just to see genre icons staring intensely at dusty artifacts, here is how the lineup is shaping up.

With Expedition X having finished its run not too long ago, there’s an empty chair in the entertainment that needs filling. And there is good news as the next season is being filmed. On the series fan page on Facebook, Heather confirmed they are filming. All fans can do is wait while The Secret of Oak Island is nothing but dead air. As for Expedition Files, the successor to the Unknown brand, that’s coming April 1st if the info on their social media is correct.

Also, if these shows aren’t enough, viewers of network reality shows can find Extraordinary Origins with Ted Danson, Crime and Justice with Tom Selleck, and History’s Greatest Machines with Dolph Lundgren coming up. Not everything has to be about the occult.

The UnBelievable with Dan Aykroyd (April 2, History)

Returning for the second half of Season 3, Aykroyd continues to lean into the “cabinet of curiosities” aesthetic. Expect the Thursday 9/8c slot to stay dedicated to those stranger-than-fiction historical oddities that feel like they belong in a Ghostbusters script but are somehow 100% real.

Ancient Aliens (April 3, History)

Season 22 resumes Friday nights at 9/8c. It’s the show that refuses to die, and at this point that might be the most fitting thing about it. The bridge between archaeological anomalies and extraterrestrial theory holds firm.

The UnXplained with William Shatner (April 19, History)

The undisputed king of the format continues his reign. Season 8 resumes Sundays at 8/7c. Shatner’s delivery remains the gold standard, and the new investigative deep-dives look to push further into psychological phenomena and so-called “impossible” locations.

Secrets Declassified with David Duchovny (History)

Returning for a second season, this series sees the network doubling down on the meta-narrative of Duchovny’s career. While some might argue he’s spent the decades since The X-Files circling the same orbit, the show has found its footing by carving out a niche distinct from the supernatural leanings of its peers. By sticking strictly to the paper trail of government conspiracies and declassified documents, Duchovny brings a grounded, cynical weight to the lineup.

Conspiracies & Coverups with Andrew Bustamante (April 1, Discovery)

This companion piece to Duchovny’s show is said to have a harder edge. When this former covert intelligence officer traded his badge for a chance to be on television, what he offers may well be of interest for all folks who want the truth! He’ll uncover Cold War-era MK Ultra experiments before examining modern forms of digital manipulation. This isn’t armchair theorizing. It’s someone who actually sat inside the machine explaining how it worked. That distinction matters, and it makes this one of the more intriguing debuts of the season.
