Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft

>When Netflix announced that their Tomb Raider anime series will fill in the narrative gap between the more recent prequel games and the original games’ timelines, that should be enough to keep me interested. Although I never kept up with the reinventions and more modern looking games, to have Hayley Atwell (Captain America, Agent Carter) provide the voice of Lara sounds perfect, and I can’t wait for the previews to begin!
Disney >Channel / Plus
When Disney is banking on content from other studios to attract a wider audience, I have high hopes for Dragon Striker. This is a French-made> series about football (as >Soccer> is known in >Europe>) players, where they have unique powers to help them score in the field. The concept seems solid, and in order for this series to be Disneyeque, it’s about a young child who wants to be a star.

>I’m amazed that Disney is bringing a lot more French produced works to their channel. Hopefully this “epic supernatural mystery” where two french teens have to right their wrongs isn’t too familiar. With Fright Krewe and Curses next seasons still in development, I’m hoping this YA series can fill in a gap I’m craving–stories where it’s tough to beat down supernatural threats!

>With Halloween in nearly every media enthusiast’s mind, this series coming to streaming should not be all that surprising. Here, Jentry Chau is a Chinese-American teen who might take lessons from Tom from The Tiger’s Apprentice to protect the world. The idea looks very familiar, and although the family dynamics are different between works, I want to see where this idea is headed.
Spider-Man: Freshman Year

>This Marvel Entertainment created entry of the animated Spider-Man series doesn’t reveal a lot of information. The best ones had Kevin Feige involved as producers, but ultimately, I enjoyed those non studio made works. It’s tough to top the original 90s, and honestly, I really want to see Greg Weisman’s take continue. Alas, that isn’t so, and what we’re getting is yet another ‘reboot. This entry is supposed to celebrate the character’s early comic book roots and my big question is if it’ll tie into the MCU, since nobody is supposed to know what Pete did to save the multiverse.
