I remember the days when Cyberpunk 2020 was the definitive role playing game about a high tech dystopian future. William Gibson‘s world featuring the neuromancer was fully realized in this product and with that year right around the corner, we are not there yet. Virtual Reality ala the Matrix has not taken hold! Flash forward to now, Dark Horse Books and CD Projekt RED have advanced the time frame to look at The World of Cyberpunk 2077!

I almost have to ask myself what happened? Has some conglomerate slowed the technological efforts so all that BioWare take place much later? Technically, Mike Pondsmith (creator of the game) revealed more than a few wars happened with the game universe. Cyberpunk 203X explains what happened, and players of the pen and paper game derided the shift to using miniatures to power the imagination.

This latest production continues this world for a broader audience. I’m simply excited given the state of where computing power is at–we’ll get a lot more story with the video game! The book that’s set to explain everything goes on sale April 22, 2020, and retails for $99.99. The tome is available for pre-order through Amazon (regular edition) and at local comic shops.

Cyberpunk 2077 is next year’s most anticipated game. This intricately assembled tome contains everything you need to know about the history, characters, and world of the long-awaited RPG from the creators of The Witcher video game series.

This dark future is where violence, oppression, and cyberware implants aren’t just common—they’re necessary tools to get ahead. Explore the various districts, gangs, and history of Night City. Learn all there is to know about the technology of tomorrow and research the cybernetics, weapons, and vehicles necessary to advance.

This book features a gorgeous exclusive cover and slipcase. In this deluxe edition, fans will also find a few items to help them feel more at home among the gangers, corpos, outcasts, and cyberpunks in Night City! Readers can show their alignment with any of Night City’s varied, colourful gangs with a set of temporary tattoos. Honor the gone-but-not-forgotten superstar, Johnny Silverhand, with an exclusive poster (and yes, the one and only Keanu Reeves will be in the game in a role completely opposite to Neo). Finally, the deluxe edition also includes four postcards that each showcase a vehicle from one of Night City’s diverse and unique lifestyles.
