Emerald City Comic Con to go K-Pop and Anime in 2020!

Emerald City Comic Con March 12-15, 2020

Emerald City Comic Con is expanding! Whether they are looking to add to the local Asian scene or is planning to work with the organizers behind Sakura Con for a mega-sized event, the information is scant at time of writing. Announced in today’s newsletter is the fact this added section will be exciting to track.

Perhaps CLAMP or Kenichi Sonoda will make a return to the Pacific Northwest. On my wish list includes Kouta Hirano of Hellsing and Yukito Kishiro of Gunnm (Battle Angel Alita) fame. As much as every one would love to meet Hayao Miyazaki, I’ve heard he does not do conventions.

Old or new, the pop culture scene is huge in India, China, Korea and Japan. Comiket has been running since 1975, and they have been specializing in creator content over franchise. India’s market is very unique, and has four events to cover this particular region. Though not as fancily named, Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) is simply huge. ReedPOP, the company behind Emerald City does have a presence in this country, and as for what they can bring will be worth noting.

To keep track of what ECCC may bring, please follow them on Twitter or Facebook.
