When Matt Vesely’s Film Monolith Suggests Shaka, When The Walls Fell….

Although the Star Trek reference to Monolith may seem appropriate, there’s more going on in this tale than meets the eye, and what’s presented is eerie!

Although the Aussie made movie titled Monolith is slightly misleading, I’m sure what it’s named was intentional. This science fiction thriller about alienation has enough elements in play to suggest the building of such an edifice, but in truth what’s being assembled is revealed one brick at a time. Lily Sullivan (Evil Dead Rise) plays an unnamed journalist who’s fallen from grace. Either she didn’t give credit where it’s due, or she falsified some info just for notoriety, the damage is done.

Now, she’s trying to rebuild; she’s the voice behind the “Beyond Believable” podcast. It explores all the crazy things that go on in life that nobody wants to accept. The pressure to come up with a good story is tough, and instead of exploring the paranormal, it’s more about conspiracies. After getting a mysterious email which barely identifies why “The Brick” is dangerous and a phone number, she’s curious enough to take the bait.

Introducing a New Talent to the Horror Scene, Zach Lorkiewicz, and Why “The Night Jane Went Insane” in 2023/24!

What’s special about Zach Lorkiewicz’s art, music videos and short films is that he’s willing to put it all out for free on YouTube!

Zach Lorkiewicz and Brinke Stevens at The Night Jane Went Insane Zach Lorkiewicz may seem like a new name in the horror indie film industry, but when you look at his online profile, he’s been at it for a decade, and his prowess must be noted. According to Brinke Stevens, an icon in the horror film community, he has a solid work ethic. She’s seen him at work, and the fact he has a clear vision speaks volumes.

“And I also love art; It all started when I was young, making my own films and going to schools for it. I woke up to it,” said this filmmaker. Examples can be found on his Instagram page. “I enjoy making things outside the system. It allows you to have a lot of freedom, and that ultimately is the most important thing to realise.”

This talent is based out of Los Angeles, and to stand out is tough. He said that in this city it’s easy to meet folks in the industry, but he had to be cautious. “That’s because not all of them have my back. I’ve been very lucky. It is very difficult to find producers in the Indie world willing to commit to your project. I’m consistently making other [corporate] videos and random experimental things to put on display, to make ends meet.”

Blue Book 1947 Delivers More Than Your Standard Thrills! There Be Chills Too!

Anyone wanting a different take on the famous case of Kenneth Arnold’s sightings of UFOs will find Blue Book 1947’s examination refreshing.

James Tynion IV and Michael Avon Oeming‘s exploration into all that’s alien is back, and I couldn’t be any happier! With Blue Book 1947, I surmise that this second series will be about those alien sightings that made that year impactful! Their stylized retelling of the most famous cases in UFO history gets right to the story that started the craze. And what I find fascinating is in how this writer connects the dots that I feel have not been explored elsewhere! I don’t even recall a lot of shows doing that. What’s presented draws on more than one story in order to make it serialised for a comic book readership.

It wasn’t just Kenneth Arnold finding something unusual navigating the skies over Washington State that day, on June 24th, 1947. Instead, there were Fred Johnson and Ethel Wheelhouse, to name a few, and perhaps even more! Some people may have even taken what they’ve witnessed to the grave, but we’ll never know.

Look Out! Space Invaders: World Defense is Taking Over the Skies!

I can’t help but be reminded of the climatic moment from Independence Day in the fancier levels in Space Invaders: World Defense.

Available on Android and iOS

Space Invaders: World Defense has the feel that players should don AR glasses while shooting down the titular pixel aliens in the real world. That’s because, to spin around and search for them means they’re after you rather than to destroy a city! Fortunately, this game limits the area where you can move around in, so you’re not running around the block in search of their entry point to our realm.

Although this game isn’t fully designed to have you witness monsters and UFOs blasting away at city buildings, I have to wonder when digital reality will replace our own. That’s assuming that we are not living in The Matrix; the more structures that are around means more work for the game to internally weave these invaders around. It’s a novel concept that will have most gamers loving this product’s mechanic as a lot of the animation and interaction is truly seamless.

The Terror and Colour Symbolism in Blue Book, From #1 to 3!

Five issues of Blue Book will be released prior to the trade paperback slated for late August 2023 release.

Blue Book #1 Published by Dark Horse ComicsDark Horse Comics isn’t all that famous when it comes to offering titles concerning Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon, but when they do, I’m all for it! Instead of titling it “Project” Blue Book, the simpler title is eye-catching not only in colour presentation but also narrative approach.

Here, creators James Tynion IV and Michael Avon Oeming give readers a look at a few well-known cases from UFO lore. The tale that kicks things off recounts the famous case of Betty and Barney Hill. They were the very first alien abductees, and recounting their narrative is the perfect choice! In later issues, we see how their lives have been affected. Betty can’t let the encounter go, and her inquiries set the tone for what’s still to come. Chapter three is the most telling, since the last one ended up in an abrupt note.
