George of the Jungle… er, Dudley–let’s just say Brendan Fraser is coming to Fan Expo Vancouver 2020 (Feb 15-17)! This versatile actor was forever immortalized as Rick O’Connell in The Mummy trilogy (1999-2008) but for followers of this actor, he got his start with many comedic roles. His most notable were playing similar adorable but goofy Jay Ward animated characters–the aforementioned parody of Tarzan and Dudley Do-Right, to which some feel is completely bang on.

Gods and Monsters (1998) proved he could do serious drama, and from there he appeared in The Quiet American (2002) and Crash (2004). He’s at home in either environment. While recognized for his many pulp action hero roles for his dashing good lucks at his prime, there is more to him than meets the eye.

He’s done the occasional work in the animation world as a voice actor, like Wishology, and perhaps that’s aided him in giving Robotman life in Doom Patrol. This TV series is well received and is green-lit for a second season. It’s set to premiere in 2020 on both DC Universe and HBO Max. At Fan Expo Vancouver, perhaps he can tease at what’s to come, not only for his actual appearance in the show and what’s in store for the ‘bot wanting his humanity back.
