SDCC’13: LEGO Back to the Future Flashback!

Yes, Doc Brown will be furious at my desire to bash toys up, but I do have a destructive tendency when it comes to certain LEGO builds. After all, rebuilding them is half the fun.

lego-back-to-the-future-deloreanAll I can say in response to LEGO’s release of the Back to the Future line of bricks is that, “This DeLorean can be rebuilt after being gleefully smashed.”

Before fans say sacrilege, this product is LEGO and the build looks relatively simple to assemble. But there is also another reason: it can be updated to look like the vehicle from the later movies, and each of them do have subtle differences.

Select retailers will receive this item on August 1st to sell for a MSRP of $34.99 and I am heavily considering to be waiting in line at my nearest Toys R’ Us to buy this kit. Even if this particular build looks small and the final product looks mediocre, it should be to scale for the awesome looking train.

I can not wait to get the Doc Brown’s homage to steam punk. Hopefully this locomotion will be set to sell later. It’s currently a LEGO Cuusoo concept/design. For people who do know what this group is, they produce community supported sets. All it takes are 1,000 ‘likes’ and it will be reviewed by the LEGO Group to be considered being made to an official LEGO product.
